Mmmm. A really chocolate-y treat for the sweet tooth. It’s pretty rich tasting, even though it’s not actually that rich of a dessert.
Don’t have agave? Use 2/3 cup white sugar instead.
Adapted from my mom’s recipe
1/2 cup (1 1/2 oz) baking cocoa (I like Aristocrat)
5 T cornstarch
1/4 t salt
4 cups (32 oz) milk
1/2 cup (6 oz) agave
1 T butter
1 t vanilla
Whisk together the coca, cornstarch and salt. Whisk in the milk and agave. Bring to a boil over medium-low heat, stirring constantly. Boil 1 minute. Remove from heat and stir in the butter and vanilla. Chill before spooning the lusciousness into your mouth.
Yield: 5 cups
