The strawberries are ripening! I’m so excited. The kids are too. They filched the very first pink one they saw. Buggers 🙂
Ham and Cheese are growing like weeds!
Speaking of cheese, I’ve been having some issues with mold. I know some mold is normal but I think I’ve been having a bit much. I was having to clean my cheese almost daily. When I cleaned the Monterey Jack, it still smelled like mold so I decided to cut off the exterior and eat the insides right away. It was actually pretty good! It was a bit drier than I prefer but the flavor was nice and mild. We ate some of it plain and had the rest in casseroles. I lowered the temp and humidity in my cheese “cave” but I’m not sure what else I’ll do about my mold issues. Maybe we will just have to eat the cheese before it’s ages entirely. Oh well. It’s still homemade (cheap!) cheese!
